Rotary Club Rijeka handed the donation of 90.000,00 kuna to Children's Hospital Kantrida in Rijeka. These funds were raised from donations and Charity concert held on December 7th, 2014 in HNK "Ivan pl. Zajc", where Tedi Spalato, Joso Butorac and klapa Sol have been performed.
In addition to the much larger donation than last, when it was collected 52,000.00 kuna, which was received by director doc. dr. Goran Palčevski from president of Rotary Club Mr Hrvoje Lulic, and is expressed special thanks to HNK because of significant cooperation in the realization of the concert.
Thereby the Rijeka Rotarians performed the earlier promise and contributed to humanity and compassion for the needs of young patients in the Children's Hospital Kantrida and their parents as well as of excellent doctors. About 100.000 children from 0 to 18 years old from Western Croatian region - Istrian, Primorsko-goranska and Licko-senjska county as well as children of our tourists who stay in these three counties gravitate to this hospital.
With the Humanitarian action Be Here 2014 will be achieved the goal - restoration and air conditioning of department of intensive and post-intensive care and creating conditions for parents or mothers to be able to stay in the hospital with their children for 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health has accepted the patronage of this action of Pediatric Clinic KBC Rijeka. It is interesting to mention that the same idea of our actions - Mom Be Here this year is accepted by HRT and the Ministry of Health in the great Croatian television humanitarian health action.
Inspired by the successful campaign, the fourth Christmas humanitarian action - Mom Be Here year 2015 has already announced.
Rotary Club Rijeka within its program a significant part of activities directs toward humanitarian goals with which also promotes high ethical principles in business and private life, and spreads the good will and understanding in the world.
Humanitarian actions are a good opportunity for a public invitation to new members. All who share such thoughts are welcome in the Rotary Club Rijeka, on Mondays at 8 pm in the ROTARY RUZIC PALACE Strossmayerova street 26 / I. On that occasion, the Rotary Art Nouveau palace can be seen, which the part of the family of Croatian ban and great Rotarian dr. Viktor Ruzic donated to RC Rijeka. There is a headquarter of Rotary Club, as well as permanent displayed exhibition about Lovro pl. Matačić.
This successfully conducted humanitarian action is the result of hard work of Rijeka Rotarians, donors and the media to the satisfaction of all involved in the campaign to help the Children's Hospital Kantrida.
