Ahead of us is a rotary 2015/2016 year in which we need to be a Rotarians by deeds and not by words. We should ask a hypothetical question to ourselves why did I join in a Rotary? Why didn't I become a member of some other similar charitable organization? The point is just that we adopted the Rotary as our mission and organization. But in order to have the right to call it our own, in order to be authentic, we have to give ourselves to the Rotary. We must devote ourselves to the goals and ideals of Rotary, in which we believe and consider worth of living. And a fundamental goal of Rotary is willingness to assist in daily work and life in a manner:
By cultivating a friendship to become of benefit to others
By acceptance of high ethical principles both in private and business life respect the values of each act for the common good
By promoting a responsible action of Rotarians in private, business and public life
By fostering a good will for understanding and peace among nations by means of world community of business people, united in ideal of help to others.
In the mandate of 2015/2016 we need to build friendship and relationships that will last. I suppose that friends will gladly come to the meeting and gathering at which they feel comfortable, and they will avoid meetings and gatherings that are boring, exhausting and where we do not have the opportunity to do something useful. To each of us flatters a smart society, a cultural communication in the witty atmosphere, sincerity, friendship at deed, spirit of cooperation and good will. Opposite to it we avoid stupidity, primitivism, aggression, hostility, inefficiency and boredom.
I am confident that we will with a common work of ordinary members and members of friends build a monument that will be carved in the lives and hearts of friends of Rotarians and the future members of our club. In that belief, we have adopted the Guidelines of work that are based on five levels of service: service to club, service to vocation, service to community, international service and service to youth. The main goal and intent of these Guidelines is desire to allow a quality planning of common activities and individual obligations, as well as the personal supervision of execution. And we, in addition to the general objectives of Rotary International movement and our Rotary District and liabilities assumed in the previous mandate, will our focus of work concentrate on:
And let's don't forget: each club member has obligation during rotary year:
- to hold at least one lecture or to secure a lecturer who will do it instead of him, and
- to visit the one friendly RC at own choice in agreement with the club authorities.
